How UK Shoppers Cut Costs at GoFibre

GoFibre sells full fibre broadband for homes and businesses across parts of Scotland and the north of England. Its listed home packages include GoFibre 150, GoFibre 300, GoFibre 500 and GoFibre MAX, with advertised peak-time download speeds from 150Mbps to 1000Mbps. Depending on the package, customers may receive a Wi-Fi 6 router, symmetrical upload speeds and, on GoFibre MAX, antivirus protection and an advanced router.

This guide shows UK shoppers how to compare the real cost of a GoFibre order before committing. It covers postcode availability, package choice, contract length, optional extras, switching support and eligibility-based tariffs, so you can focus on the price and features that genuinely apply to your household.

Start with your postcode

GoFibre’s availability checker is the first step because the packages, offers and extras shown during an order can depend on your address. Enter your postcode before comparing prices, rather than relying on a general deal displayed elsewhere. If the service is not yet available, GoFibre says you may be able to register your interest and receive updates about future availability.

Checking first also helps avoid spending time comparing a package that cannot be ordered at your property. Keep your full address details to hand and make sure the result relates to the exact home you want to connect.

Compare the monthly price with the package speed

GoFibre’s deals page currently lists 24-month prices of £22.50 a month for GoFibre 150, £26.50 for GoFibre 300, £29.50 for GoFibre 500 and £34.50 for GoFibre MAX. These prices are shown including VAT and are subject to terms and conditions. Treat them as package-specific advertised prices, not a guarantee that every postcode will display identical options.

Choose the speed that matches your use rather than automatically selecting the fastest plan. A smaller household that mainly browses, streams and makes video calls may not need a 1000Mbps package. A larger household, home worker or frequent gamer may place greater value on faster uploads and higher capacity. Comparing the monthly difference over the full minimum term gives a clearer view than looking only at the headline percentage saving.

Check what is included

Some GoFibre packages include features that could otherwise increase the monthly cost. The listed 150, 300 and 500 packages include a next-generation Wi-Fi 6 router and symmetrical upload speed, described by GoFibre as normally costing an additional £5 a month. GoFibre MAX includes an advanced Wi-Fi 6 router, antivirus protection and symmetrical upload speed, with the website showing separate usual monthly prices for those features.

Read the package details before adding extras. An apparently cheaper plan may not suit your needs if you later pay for additional upload capacity, improved Wi-Fi coverage or security features. Equally, do not pay for an add-on that your household will not use.

Look for switching support

GoFibre advertises up to £200 in switching credit and says eligible customers can use One Touch Switching to let GoFibre manage the move from their current provider. The website also states that free installation is available with 24-month packages. Check the exact conditions shown during checkout, including whether the credit applies to your order and what evidence may be required.

Switching credit can reduce the cost of leaving an existing contract, but it should be treated as separate from the monthly broadband price. Before ordering, check your current provider’s cancellation amount, your GoFibre package term and the timing requirements for claiming any available credit.

Consider the Social Tariff if you qualify

GoFibre offers a Social Tariff for eligible customers receiving certain state benefits. The tariff is advertised at £20 a month for broadband with speeds of up to 30Mbps. Listed qualifying benefits include Universal Credit, Pension Credit Guarantee Credit, Income Support, income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance and income-related Employment and Support Allowance.

Eligibility checks apply, and the person receiving the qualifying benefit must be the account holder. GoFibre’s terms also state that some new customers may have to pay an initial £99 installation fee if they are not eligible for free installation. Confirm your eligibility, installation position and any other applicable terms with GoFibre before placing the order.

Review phone and other add-ons

If you need a home phone service, GoFibre lists Call Plan+ at £11.26 a month on its broadband deals page, with unlimited anytime calls to UK phone services and mobiles. The service operates over the internet, so GoFibre recommends having another way to contact emergency services if there is a power failure or network outage.

Only add Call Plan+, enhanced Wi-Fi or balanced broadband if the feature has a clear purpose in your home. Removing an unwanted add-on can make a larger difference to the total contract cost than finding a small one-off saving.

Check referral conditions carefully

GoFibre’s referral scheme says an eligible new customer and the referring customer can each receive an Amazon voucher worth up to £75 after the new service is installed. The order must use the unique referral link or code, and GoFibre states that referral rewards cannot be stacked with nonstandard or affiliate offers. This is not the same as an instant reduction at checkout, so factor in the timing and eligibility rules before treating it as a saving.

Before you pay

Look for the final monthly price, minimum contract term, installation charge, selected speed and every add-on in the order summary. If the retailer provides a promotional-code field at checkout, enter a verified code exactly as supplied and confirm that the total changes before paying. If no code field is shown, do not assume a code can be applied later; instead, check whether the displayed package already includes the relevant offer and review the applicable terms before confirming.

Searches for GoFibre discount codes should be used as a prompt to verify the offer, not as proof that a code is active. Do not assume that a referral reward, switching credit, package promotion or Social Tariff can be combined unless GoFibre clearly confirms it.

Quick checklist

  • Enter your postcode and confirm service availability.
  • Compare the total monthly price across the full contract term.
  • Check the advertised speed, upload speed and included router.
  • Remove optional extras that you do not need.
  • Review One Touch Switching and any switching-credit conditions.
  • Check whether free installation applies to your selected term.
  • Assess the Social Tariff if you receive a qualifying benefit.
  • Only use a code if a checkout field is provided and the saving appears in the total.
  • Save the order summary and relevant terms before confirming payment.

For a final check before ordering, review the GoFibre discount codes page alongside the GoFibre checkout, then pay only when the displayed package, conditions and total match your budget. This is the safest way to assess GoFibre UK deals without relying on unverified savings.
